June 09.09 Joe and Gary visit Niagara Wine Country to tour and taste in preparation for our upcoming VQA page in the wine list. Thank you to Lailey, Cattail Creek, Coyote's Run, Ravine, Clos Jordanne, Fielding, Foreign Affair and 13th Street! We tasted some unbeleivable reds from the 2007 vintage and whites from 2008. The reds from '08 still in barrel are very exciting as well.
June 01.09 13th Street Winery feature begins today! For the month of June we are featuring in our wine list the incredible wines of 13th Street Winery in Jordan Ontario. We will also be pairing the wines with our prix fixe wine region inspired menu each Friday & Saturday in June.
May 06-09.09 Vertical is partnering with Closson Chase winery in Prince Edward County for the Salute Wine Festival. On May 6 we will be offering a 5 course tasting menu paired with Closson Chase wines for $100 per person. On May 9 from 1-4pm in the Distillery District Fermenting Cellar, Chef Tawfik will be participating in the Food Network 100 mile challenge ultimate kitchen party, partnering with Kerr Farms Beef.

April 5-7.09 Bar Chef Rob flies to Vail, Colorado for the Grand Marnier Summit featuring the top mixologists in North America. Rob was one of four representatives from Canada.
April.09 Vertical commences Regional Wine Dinners on Friday & Saturday evenings. April will showcase the cuisine and wines of Campania in southwest Italy. $45 four course menu, $60 with wine pairings.
February 23-March 28.09 Vertical is one of 26 restaurants participating in 'Stop for Food' in support of The Stop Community Food Centre. Chef Tawfik is offering a $50 Prix Fixe menu, with $10 from each menu sold donated directly to The Stop.

The event is a gathering of chefs from accross Canada that reinforces the passion and integrity of Canadian food culture. It serves to connect chefs to the land in solidarity with farmers, fishers, gardeners, foragers and all artisinal food producers.
